Hypnotherapy . . . what on earth is THAT? - sounds
SCARY!
It's actually much simpler than it
sounds. Forget about the stage hypnosis stuff.
Therapeutic hypnosis is a state of
profound relaxation which YOU allow yourself to enter, during which there is an
alteration of conscious awareness, (in other words it's rather like going into a
daydream) but throughout which you remain in control, and aware of, everything that
is happening.
You cannot be hypnotised against
your will or be made to do anything which is against your wishes or your moral
code.
